Byrd Cookie Company: A Tasty Lunch

I was thrilled when I learned that one of my favorite places to shop for gifts was now serving lunch! Byrd Cookie Company recently debuted a delightful lunch menu featuring fresh salads, soups and unique sandwiches with locally sourced ingredients.

We tried the Slow Roasted Pork Sandwich with pickled carrot, kimchee ketchup, cucumber and cilantro on brioche baked right there in the Byrd bakery. The Italian Calabrese packed a kick on house-made country bread. A small plate of the Southern Deviled Eggs rounded out the meal. And of course a “Just Like Mom’s Grilled Cheese” for my three year old who was in tow!

I was excited to see the fun kid’s menu (I mean come on, this is a COOKIE joint.) Byrd offers staples like PB&J (they’ll even cut the crusts off) and apple slices. An Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich or a Milkshake at the Cookie Bar made from Byrd’s Famous Cookies like Key Lime Coolers (their most popular cookie flavor) or Georgia Peach is perfect to top off lunch!

Of course, you can always sample Byrd’s Famous Cookies and snacks as you’re shopping around the store. There are so many unique gifts that are uniquely Savannah and of course my favorite – a Byrd Cookie Jar!
